Sound & Fury certainly lives up to its name. I love the mix of genres and instrumentation, but possibly not my favourite Sturgill album.

This is the best rock album to come out since Eliminator. I was lucky enough to see one show on this tour. The entire concept, artwork, lyrics, arrangement, songwriting, and mix of this album are on par with The Wall without even mentioning the film that was made to accompany this album. Sturgill is the only man alive who could get away with making a record like this and do so in a full authentic way. That said, his band ain't nothing to turn your nose up at. Bobby, Miles, and Chuck don't even need Sturgill's guitar playing to sound like a supergroup. If I had to choose one album to listen to for the rest of my life it would easily be this album.

I was bummed to read SS in Uproxx talk about how much pain he associates with this record because I love it so much! I’m bummed that this tour with Tyler was cancelled by Covid and now he may never tour this record, but again, if this is a source of pain for him, that makes me sad because this record rocks in so many deep and profound ways. I also hope his talk of retirement is just day to day frustration with the biz, because he’s a gifted artist who I want to hear from every few years or so and maybe have the chance to see live once or twice. His music means a lot to me and I share it with as many of my friends as I can.
